Last weekend, Rex and Carolyn (my rents') came down for a visit and to help with finishing touch in my apartment. They were a BIG help! On Thursday, they joined my morning commute, in order to spend the day in Malibu. While I spent the day at work, they were able to visit the Pepperdine bookstore, meet my colleagues and visit the Getty Villa.
On Friday, the parents stayed back in Woodland Hills. They put together an IKEA dresser I bought before they arrived, so it would be ready for their handy work. Now, my clothes have a home other than the floor. Yay! After finishing the dresser, they walked down a block to the mall. Would you believe there are two malls within a block either north or south of my place? Nothing quite like having a mall in walking distance.rday, we tried this wonderful little chain restaurant called the Corner Bakery Cafe, which is similar to a Panera. There is one across the street from my place that I had yet to visit. It is very good and quite reasonable. It might just become my new favorite hang-out. Commentary aside, we had a great hot breakfast.

Following breakfast, we headed to the Ronald W. Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA. The museum is fantastic and really showcases his personal and professional life well. One of the museum highlights is the opportunity to board Air Force One (the presidential plane used from the Reagan Administration to the Clinton Administration).
Then, what trip would be complete without a visit to In N Out Burgers? We spent the rest of the weekend running errands, eating out (California Pizza Kitchen twice) and setting up house for me. Minus a bit of organizing here and there, the weekend mission of making the apartment cozy and ready for viewing (both in person and from the web) was accomplished.

And it was a FUN time helping where we could and being able to explore So. Cal. that we remember from some 30 years back. Yikes!!
