Following the
ACSD Conference, it was time for some rest and renewal -- thus a road trip!
Within a week of ACSD, Anna and I jumped in the car and headed to Washington State. It was a delightful trip. Six days of travel and fun included ... lunch at
Great Pacific Wine and Coffee in Pendleton, OR (thanks to the Schandorff's recommendation), a fun stop in Hood River, OR, quality time with the
Griffith family, a evening encounter with
Colum McCann ('nough said!), great local food, a beautiful day in Seattle and some fresh mountain air at the family cabin in Packwood, WA. As you can tell by the recap, it was a full trip... but EXACTLY what I needed after a full academic year followed by hosting a national conference. It might just have to be repeated next summer!
